 Assignment Title: Facilitation Services for the Workshop on Co-design of RAENS ICKM Framework and Revision of CCARDESA ICKM Strategy, Johannesburg, South Africa

The Centre for Coordination of Agricultural Research and Development for Southern Africa (CCARDESA) has received financing from the EU towards the cost of Coordination of the establishment of the Regional Agroecology Network for Southern Africa ( RAENS) and intends to apply a portion of the proceeds of this grant towards eligible payments under this contract.

 CCARDESA is a subsidiary organization of SADC and has the mandate of coordinating all matters of agricultural research and development in the SADC region. It facilitates implementation of various projects including RAENS Project.

 The objective of this assignment is to facilitate a 3-day expert co-design workshop for the joint development of the RAENS ICKM Framework and revision of key components of the CCARDESA ICKM Strategy (July 2026).

The facilitator is expected to:

        i.         Work with CCARDESA to conduct a 3-day workshop, including the following;

  • Facilitate the 3-day workshop, including direct proceedings of the workshop, and achieve the workshop objectives
  • Review existing CCARDESA ICKM Strategy and RAENS documents
  • Prepare a brief facilitation plan and workshop agenda
  • Identify key sections for revision and co-design

       ii.         Post-workshop assistance

  • Prepare a summary report on the workshop, framework, and ICKM Strategy, synthesizing important issues discussed or agreed upon in line with the workshop objectives.

 The Centre for Coordination of Agricultural Research and Development for Southern Africa now invites eligible Individual Consultants (“Consultants”) to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested consultants should provide their financial proposal and CVs showing Comprehensive list of assignments, a description of similar assignments, demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services.

The best qualified consultant to carry out the services will be selected in accordance with the Individual Consultant Selection method as set out in the CCARDESA procurement manual and based on the following criteria:

- A minimum of a master’s degree in Agricultural Economics, KM, or a closely related field,

- At least 7 years’ experience in the alignment of SADC KM strategies, policies, and AU to country-level implementation.

- Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team

- Experience in similar assignments ( with similar audiences )

- Experience in working with regional organizations in SADC Region

- At least five years of relevant experience in facilitating collaborative workshops for large regional organizations

- Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills. 

- Experience with multi-cultural environments in a variety of settings

- Knowledge and experience of innovative workshop facilitation principles and methods

-Fluency (spoken and written) in English is essential; working knowledge of other SADC languages will be an advantage.
